Report: Tottenham could bid for Zaniolo right at the end of the window
Antonio Conte could attempt to convince Fabio Paratici in the final days of the transfer window to make a bid for Nicolo Zaniolo should Tottenham Hotspur manage to offload more of their players before the deadline looms, according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.
Zaniolo is starting to feel like one of those players destined to be forever linked with a Premier League move without ever actually making the switch.
Reports have suggested that he is Conte’s dream signing. Meanwhile, Ben Jacobs claimed this week that fresh talks could take place in the coming days. He added that Zaniolo wants to play in the Premier League and Champions League.
Spurs however, appear to be focusing on moving players on right now. Joe Rodon left on loan at the start of the month. And there is an offer on the table for Giovani Lo Celso.
It appears that the success of reducing the squad size may determine whether Tottenham do indeed follow up on their interest in Zaniolo.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that Conte could yet try to convince Paratici to bid just before the deadline. Much will depend however, on Tottenham moving players on before that point.
Tottenham could bid for Zaniolo in the final days of the transfer window
Some Spurs fans will probably be fed up of hearing about Zaniolo at this stage. And that seems understandable.
However, it does feel as though Tottenham have one big statement of intent left up their sleeve this summer. They have made several shrewd additions. And now, they may be on the lookout for another name that makes the rest of the Premier League sit up and take notice.
Zaniolo would be that. He is an ‘incredible‘ player who could cost £46 million.
It is certainly one opportunity Tottenham fans will likely keep in mind as they watch more and more of their unwanted players leave the club in the coming weeks.
