Report: Spurs, Everton and Arsenal have cooled interest in Lazio star Joaquin Correa
Spurs, Everton, and Arsenal have all apparently cooled off their interest in Lazio forward Joaquin Correa, according to reports in Italy.
Corriere dello Sport has claimed that Correa is now set for talks with Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri, as he looks to see where his future lies.
It’s suggested that Inter Milan could move for Correa if they decide to sell Lautaro Martinez this summer. However, as yet, no bid has come the way of the Rome club for the Argentinian.
Reports previously have stated that Spurs, along with the likes of West Ham, Everton, and Arsenal, are all keen on Correa. Indeed, it was reported at the beginning of July that Spurs had lodged a £26m bid for the forward.
But that interest has now waned, per Corriere dello Sport, and Correa now faces a big chat with Sarri to decide what’s next.
Fabio Paratici is apparently a big fan of the Argentine. But with other irons in the fire as well, the Spurs transfer guru needs to move quickly in the market this summer.;
Dead and buried?
If Correa had high hopes of sealing a move to the Premier League, then those hopes appear to being dashed.
It seems English clubs have given up the chase really. The asking price is also probably putting some off, with Lazio said to be demanding as much as £34m.
Whether Correa gets a move elsewhere remains to be seen. But for now, it looks like Spurs and Everton will be moving on elsewhere. Unless, of course, there is another twist in the tale with this one.
