Report: Tottenham make £26m bid for Argentina star at Copa America
Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer worth £26 million for Lazio forward Joaquin Correa, Alfredo Pedulla report.
They claim that Tottenham are battling PSG for the attacker, and are prepared to offer a straight cash bid.
Lazio are now preparing for the departure of the Argentine within days, or ‘at most’ weeks.
That news looks encouraging for Tottenham, with Alfredo Pedulla noting that new sporting director Fabio Paratici is the man driving the interest in him.
Where does Correa fit in?
Correa would certainly make an interesting addition to Tottenham’s team, not least because he would add further options in an area where Spurs already look well stocked.
Correa is an attacking midfielder, and his arrival would surely ask further questions over where Dele Alli fits into Nuno’s plans.
It could also the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso having to fight for their places.
Correa is not the most natural of goalscorers, with just eight to his name in the league last season, but he is well rounded and at 6ft 2inch, possesses good height.
Correa is currently at the Copa America with Argentina, where he has made three appearances.
