Spanish outlet Sport.es reports Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has now agreed terms with Barcelona – just weeks after claims Arsenal are going to bid for him.
Arsenal have been on the lookout for central midfielders, with Mikel Arteta slightly short in the position at the moment.
The Gunners failed with a deadline day swoop for Douglas Luiz over the summer and the player has now signed a new deal with Aston Villa.
Arsenal were also linked with a move for Leicester City man Youri Tielemans, but journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed Gunners chiefs had doubts about the 25-year-old.
Sport.es recently reported that Arteta’s men were set to rival Barca for the signature of Neves. But it seems the north London club could be losing ground in the race to sign the £50million-rated man.

Neves agrees terms with Barcelona
The Spanish outlet now claims that Neves has agreed terms with Xavi’s men, while Wolves and Barca have also agreed a deal for the player.
The La Liga giants have apparently made the 25-year-old their number one target.
Neves has been a standout performer at Molineux and would be a superb addition to the Arsenal side.

Arteta is lacking options in midfield, which Thomas Partey’s injury earlier this season highlighted.
The Gunners are also without Mohamed Elneny at the moment, which leaves youngster Sambi Lokonga as the only back-up option to Partey and Granit Xhaka.
Sport claimed earlier this month that Neves rejected Liverpool and Manchester United in the summer in favour of joining Xavi’s men next year.
Arsenal seem to have fallen behind in the race to sign the ‘sensational’ midfielder. But with how Arteta’s men are performing this season, he could reconsider Barca being his favoured choice.
Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League table and if they continue to maintain these high standards and qualify for the Champions League, they’ll be an attractive destination for any top player.
