Report: Relegated striker who 'can do everything' has caught Klopp's eye, Liverpool could try to sign him soon
According to The Daily Mail, Joao Pedro has caught Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s eye despite suffering relegation with Watford not too long ago.
The Reds are in high spirits despite missing out on the Premier League and Champions League titles in a matter of a few days. They still ended the season with two trophies, which is a great achievement, but Klopp will know his side missed a big opportunity to make history.
The German will surely be planning ahead for next season already and one of the key concerns with respect to his squad is Sadio Mane’s future. Fabrizio Romano revealed after the Champions League final that the Senegal international wants to leave Liverpool this summer.
Nobody knows if Klopp will allow Mane to walk away, but if he does, Liverpool will need a replacement. A relegated striker may well be that man this summer.

Joao Pedro has caught Liverpool boss Klopp’s eye
If you were told that Liverpool are interested in signing a player from Watford, the first name out of most people’s mouth would be Ismaila Sarr.
However, Klopp reportedly has concerns over the Senegal star’s in-game intelligence.
One Watford player who has impressed the Liverpool boss is Pedro, who played 28 times for the Hornets in what was a truly disappointing campaign for them in the Premier League last season.
The Brazilian, still only 20, impressed at times with his movement and positioning. However, he only managed to score three league goals all campaign, which isn’t great for a striker.
That doesn’t seem to have bothered Klopp, who reportedly has the Watford man in his mind while he’s thinking of possible replacements for Mane in the upcoming summer transfer window.
He can do everything
Italian football manager Walter Mazzarri, who has been at clubs like Napoli, Inter Milan and even Watford previously, has noticed Joao Pedro, and he seems to be a huge fan.
Speaking in December 2021, Mazzarri said, as quoted by HITC: “Joao Pedro is a complete player, a leader, he can do everything as the centre-forward.
“I don’t know what choices he made as a young man, but he could have stayed in the top teams. I think he would be perfect for the way the national team plays.”
Well, if Mazzarri thinks Pedro’s brilliant and if he’s caught Klopp’s eye, he must be doing something right, and Liverpool could well make a move for him this summer.
