Report: Liverpool actually like 'world class' contract rebel, Klopp could sign him to replace Sadio Mane
According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool really like Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry as Jurgen Klopp explores options to replace Sadio Mane if he leaves the club this summer.
The Senegal star has been one of the Reds’ best players over the last few years. He has been absolutely outstanding and has played a huge part in helping Liverpool win all the trophies they’ve won since 2019.
Mane will soon enter the final year of his contract and after the disappointment of the Champions League final, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the 30-year-old has decided to leave Liverpool.
The journalist claimed that Mane wants a new experience after eight years in the Premier League, and Bayern Munich are reportedly one of the main contenders to sign him.
Liverpool like Serge Gnabry as Klopp thinks about Sadio Mane replacements
Replacing a player like Mane will certainly not be easy. The Senegal international is one of the best in the Premier League, and Liverpool will need to find someone sensational to fill his boots.
Of all the names linked with a move to Anfield, Gnabry may well be the best one. The German is reportedly refusing to sign a new contract at Bayern Munich, and Romano revealed recently that the Bundesliga champions will not offer him more money than what they’ve already done.
Gnabry, like Mane, will enter the final year of his contract next month, and if he refuses to sign a new deal, Bayern’s best option would be to sell him this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer this time next year.
The German, branded as ‘world class’ by Rio Ferdinand, would be a fantastic signing for Liverpool, and he could well go on to be a better player than Mane in a few years’ time.
Swap deal possibility?
Bayern Munich want to sign Sadio Mane and Liverpool reportedly like Serge Gnabry. It looks like there could be a simple solution for both parties, doesn’t it?
If the two clubs are keen to sign the other side’s player this summer, a swap deal could be a very real option, but the big question is which side would demand money on top of the player.
Gnabry is clearly the younger footballer who has more potential. Liverpool will even have a high resale value if they sign him – something that Bayern won’t get if they land Mane.
On the other hand, Mane has had an exceptional season. Two domestic cups with Liverpool, the AFCON with Senegal and he even helped his country qualify for the World Cup. His stock is higher than it has ever been, and it’s difficult to imagine seeing him leave for a low fee.
The next few weeks will be a very interesting one for Liverpool fans, but we have a feeling most supporters will be happy if they got Gnabry as Mane’s replacement.
