Report: PSV now want more for Leeds and Arsenal target Cody Gakpo
Arsenal and Leeds United will no longer be able to sign Cody Gakpo for £34 million, with ED in The Netherlands reporting that PSV Eindhoven now want considerably more for the forward.
Gakpo is a name plenty of fans of Premier League clubs will know about. He enjoyed a stunning season in the Eredivisie last year. In all competitions, he scored 21 goals and contributed 15 assists.
Reports in May claimed that Arsenal had made Gakpo their top target. Meanwhile, more recently, Leeds had the 23-year-old in a similarly high position on their wishlist amid doubts over the future of Raphinha.
Of course, with the new season looming, neither club has managed to sign Gakpo. And they may be punished for not acting sooner should they now make a move for Gakpo.
In fact, they want a lot more for the forward. Only a ‘gigantic’ fee will be considered for the Netherlands international.

Both Leeds and Arsenal may well be in the market for another attacking player. The Whites definitely need more depth up front.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have not signed another attacker after missing out on Raphinha.
So you would imagine that Gakpo remains on their radar. And with that, PSV’s stance may well be a real disappointment for both sides.
He clearly has a huge amount of talent and can play across the forward line. And you would think that he would seal a big-money move away from PSV at some stage.
It seems that both Leeds and Arsenal will probably need to wait should they want to be the ones to secure his signature.
