Newcastle United returned to winning ways at the weekend, with a comfortable 4-1 win over newly promoted Fulham.
Eddie Howe’s side recorded their first league win since the opening day of the season, and Miguel Almiron was the star of the show.

The approach certainly seemed to pay off on Saturday, with Almiron scoring a goal of the season contender in the first half.
And it was his darting run that allowed Bruno Guimaraes to scoop the ball over Fulham’s defence.
There was nothing coached about the finish though, as an instinctive strike from Almiron’s laces flew into the top corner.
Howe working on the basics with Almiron
Almiron arrived at St. James’ Park from MLS side Atlanta United for £21m in 2019.
He still remains the most expensive export from America’s top flight, and has been a regular for Newcastle ever since.
The Paraguayan international is not a prolific forward, and has never provided many goals or assists.
However, his work rate is highly valued, and he’s a very popular figure at Newcastle.
Almiron has already put in some excellent performances this season.

He was brilliant against Manchester City, and received plenty of praise from Eddie Howe.
Newcastle legend Alan Shearer thought he was ‘very, very good’ on Saturday, as reported by BBC Sport’s live blog.
If Howe keeps working on the basics with Almiron in training, then he clearly sees further potential in the winger.
However, Allan Saint-Maximin and Alexander Isak are set to return from injury soon, and the 28-year-old’s place in the squad might be under threat.
It’s going to be very difficult to drop him after his performance on Saturday as Newcastle finally returned to winning ways.
