Newcastle United are interested in Douglas Luiz with the Aston Villa star considering a move away this summer, according to a report from Planet Football.
Luiz is heading into the final year of his contract with the Villans. He has been a key man for much of his spell in the Midlands. But recent reports claimed that he is considering leaving Steven Gerrard’s side.
Talks have been held with AC Milan. The Serie A winners want Luiz should they fail to sign Renato Sanches. But it seems that the Brazilian could be offered the chance to remain in the Premier League.
Planet Football reports that Newcastle are keen on the 24-year-old. They have already signed one Aston Villa player this summer, with Matt Targett making his loan move a permanent deal.
Reports have previously suggested that Aston Villa want at least £25.9 million for Luiz.

Newcastle definitely need to strengthen in the middle of the park ahead of next season. They produced what appears to have been a masterstroke in signing Bruno Guimarães in January.
Perhaps they will be able to partner him with his countryman from next season.
Luiz would have the potential to be an outstanding signing for the Magpies. He has already brought up a century of Premier League appearances for Villa.
