Report: Newcastle have now been offered 'extraordinary' player by his agent after having bid rejected
The Sun report that West Ham have also been handed the opportunity to land Belotti after his Torino contract expired.
Newcastle have been searching for a new frontman for two transfer windows running now, with their long pursuit of Hugo Ekitike proving fruitless.
The Hammers also need cover and competition for Michail Antonio in attack, with European football once again on the horizon.
Newcastle offered Belotti
It remains to be seen what Belotti’s wage demands are and whether or not they put off any potential Premier League suitors.
It reported that during the January transfer window that Newcastle saw a bid rejected for the Italy international, months after he was part of their Euro 2020 winning squad.
But Newcastle reportedly remained keen on the hitman and this could now be the perfect opportunity for them to make their move.
On a free transfer, there is definitely scope for a deal to be an amazing one. He has previously been labelled an ‘extraordinary striker‘.
He is a leader with Torino. And those qualities will surely appeal to Howe as he continues to mould his squad on Tyneside.
It would be a real statement if the Magpies could bring Belotti to St James’ Park, and they now have that opportunity.
