Report: New name added to shortlist as Celtic search for Ralston replacement
A report from Sports World Ghana claims Celtic are now taking a look at MSK Zilina right-back Benson Anang. The young right-back has starred in Slovakian football over the past three years, even earning a call-up to Ghana’s national team. He has also caught the eye of Celtic onlookers.
Anang, 21, joined Zilina three years ago and has since broken into Zilina’s starting line-up – clocking up 62 appearances since. This season, Zilina has already played six matches and Anang has been a part of four of those. His form has also seen Anang clock up three Ghana caps at senior level.
Now, Celtic are keen. Having already been linked with Yan Couto – who is now the subject of talks between Manchester City and Braga – and Aurelio Buta, a right-back seems to be the priority. That is, despite the impressive early performances of Anthony Ralston. Anang has a contract until 2023.

Does Ralston deserve Celtic chance, as Hoops eye Anang?
Celtic suffered a dismal start to their 21-22 season after being knocked out of Champions League qualifying by Midtjylland. A loss that has not reflected badly on Ange Postecoglou, but the Celtic board for a lack of signings. Ralston, though, gains pass marks for his displays over the two legs.
Ralston was excellent and while Celtic might end up signing a new right-back, at least Ralston has shown he is adequate cover at right-back. Beforehand, the belief was that Celtic would need to sign at least two new right-sided defenders. Ralston has done himself no harm.
