Belgian website Walfoot claim that Celtic are set to complete the £3million signing of Aurelio Buta today (Monday). The Hoops have agreed a fee and the player is said to have accepted personal terms. The report claims that Celtic are about to confirm a deal for Buta, in the next few hours.
Buta, 24, has caught the eye at Celtic having clocked up 108 appearances in the three seasons he has spent at Royal Antwerp. The five-time Portugal Under-20 international previously came through the ranks at Benfica. Now, he looks as though he is on his way to Glasgow as Celtic want a right-back.
A previous report, covered by TBR, claims that Celtic had an offer of £2.2million on the table – but Antwerp wanted £3million. It seems now that Celtic have increased that fee to meet his asking price. With personal terms and a medical likely to have been completed, a deal could go through today.

Celtic desperately need Buta signing – with deal set to happen today
Celtic really need to sign a right-sided defender as soon as possible. With the season already underway, the club have been left with Anthony Ralson on the right side of the defence. Jeremie Frimpong has left the club for Bayer Leverkusen, while Hatem Abd Elhamed has returned to Israel.
Jonjoe Kenny was on loan from Everton during the second half of last season – but a permanent move has not gone through. So, a right-back was needed and finally, Celtic have got a deal done. Buta looks like he is about to be announced as a Celtic player on Monday.
