Villarreal still view Giovani Lo Celso as their top target in the transfer window and hope to be able to agree a deal to sign the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder for £15.2 million, according to a report from El Periodico Mediterraneo.
It would be no surprise to see Lo Celso leave Spurs before the window shuts. He spent the second-half of last season on loan with the Yellow Submarine.

He became a player which Unai Emery’s side loved. And they are hoping to secure a more permanent deal this time around. However, agreeing a fee is clearly going to be a problem.
Reports recently claimed that Daniel Levy wants more than £30 million for the Argentinian. Villarreal meanwhile, are reportedly looking to pay a lot less for the 26-year-old.

El Periodico Mediterraneo reports that Villarreal still have Lo Celso as their top target. But they want to complete a deal worth around £15.2 million.
Villarreal want Lo Celso as top target, but asking price may prove problematic
Mundo Deportivo has reported on Monday that Villarreal will struggle to fund a deal for Lo Celso without sanctioning a big-money sale first. So there may not be too much room for a compromise.
But clearly, Lo Celso has no place in Antonio Conte’s plans this coming season. So it would be best for all parties if some kind of move can be agreed.
The problem for Spurs is that his stock is extremely high. He was labelled a ‘magnificent‘ player just last month. So another loan move is unlikely to help the situation.
Tottenham are probably being a little optimistic to hope to make more than £30 million for Lo Celso. But you can understand if they also hold out for a little more than just over £15 million, too.
