Report: Tottenham could price ‘magnificent’ player out of summer exit, Levy is demanding more than £30m to sell

Tottenham might have left Giovani Lo Celso out of their pre-season tour to South Korea, but that doesn’t mean he is guaranteed to depart this summer.

The Argentinian international was among a number of big names left out of the travelling Spurs squad by Antonio Conte. Along with players like Reguilon and Winks, Lo Celso will remain in London to train in a smaller party. It all but confirmed Conte doesn’t want to use those players this season, with moves expected for all of them.

Villarreal are known to be keen on bringing Lo Celso back to La Liga this summer. However, according to Marca, Tottenham won’t be making things easy.

Marca reports how Tottenham don’t want to lose much – if anything – on the £30m+ they paid for Lo Celso in the first place. After spending big this summer, Daniel Levy is determined for the club to recoup something on the players they sell, especially ones like Lo Celso who cost big money.

Labelled a ‘magnificent‘ player, Lo Celso is more suited to the La Liga style of play. And with a World Cup around the corner, the midfielder will want to be playing as much as possible.

It’s claimed Villarreal will need to sell someone to even consider paying such money for Lo Celso.

TBR’s View: Tottenham Can’t Demand The World For Lo Celso

They got good money for Steven Bergwijn, but Tottenham won’t be able to do this with every player. Clubs know they want to sell due to a bloated squad, so there will be some cat and mouse all summer with certain players.

For Lo Celso, he just needs a move. But Tottenham surely can’t go demanding a huge fee for a player they’ve so obviously left out of proceedings.

Levy is a tough nut to crack when it comes to negotiations. But if he is asking for £30m+, this could be a hard sell.
