Liverpool’s wait for a new signing under new manager Arne Slot will have to continue after they apparently pulled out of making a bid for one potential target.
The Reds fans have been patiently waiting all summer to see if Liverpool make their move in the market but as yet, nothing has materialised.
Arne Slot is thought to be keen on adding to his squad after having a few weeks now to assess everything.
However, while a number of players have been linked with moves to the Anfield, it looks like one potential new centre-half will not be making his way to Merseyside.
Liverpool back out of bid to sign Marc Guehi as Newcastle bid
According to a report from The Times, Liverpool are no longer in the mix to sign Palace and England defender Guehi.
This, despite being linked with making a move for Guehi as little as two weeks ago.

As we know, Newcastle United have made a move for Guehi now as they look to land one of the Premier League’s top defenders.
And it’s claimed in The Times that knowledge of Liverpool backing away from the Guehi deal pushed the Magpies into making their play.
Lauded by Gareth Southgate as being ‘exceptional‘ during Euro 2024, Guehi certainly saw his stock rise further.
However, it doesn’t look like Liverpool will be the club signing him.
Who else could Liverpool sign this summer?
So far, it’s very much been a case of rumours but nothing concrete when it comes to the Reds and their transfer dealings.
French midfielder Adrien Rabiot remains a player who keeps getting a mention, while Federico Chiesa is a player who has continually being linked with Liverpool.
Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer is also on Liverpool’s list, while Juventus look to have beaten the Reds to midfielder, Teun Koopmeiners.
As it stands, Liverpool fans are simply left guessing as to who the club might target.
But new signings are needed and they need to be done quickly with less than a month of the window remaining.
