Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham are just a few of the Premier League clubs that have been linked with Federico Chiesa this summer.

With the transfer window in full swing, the Lilywhites, the Gunners, the Reds, the Magpies and the Hammers are likely to be busy in pursuit of strengthening their respective squads.

Tottenham, Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham are all up and running in terms of summer transfers, while Liverpool are yet to get off the mark.

Spurs and the Gunners have landed one new player apiece – Archie Gray and Riccardo Calafiori – and the Magpies and the Hammers have signed three new players apiece.

There is certainly scope for all five clubs to make more signings as we head into August, with each team having big hopes for next season.

And Chiesa, who plies his trade for Juventus and represents Italy at international level, has been linked with all five teams, plus Chelsea and Manchester United.

Napoli are also said to be interested in the Azzurri ace, and Italian agent Stefano Caira has now spoken about the state of play involving Chiesa and all his suitors.

Federico Chiesa salary demands may be a stumbling block

Caira, speaking on 1 Football Club radio station – via CalcioNapoli24 – suggested that the Partenopei may well have a chance of signing Chiesa late on.

The agent spoke of Chiesa’s alleged salary demands – around £97,500-a-week – and how they may put the likes of West Ham and Chelsea off.

“He is an outgoing player,” said Caira. “The technical plans have changed and evidently the new coach does not see him among the primary players.

“That said, if he continues to ask for a salary higher than €6million… I know that West Ham, Manchester United and Chelsea were following him.

“I guarantee you that West Ham would not even give him €6million. Chelsea cannot do crazy things and United would go for other profiles.

“Napoli? Maybe it could be the signing of August 30th.”

Chiesa in high demand but stand-off persists

Federico Chiesa has triggered a major transfer saga this summer, with some of the biggest clubs in England and in Europe said to be interested in him.

With a reported price tag of less than £30million, he could potentially be a bargain signing for one of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham.

However, with Napoli also said to be on the case, there’s a chance Chiesa may not grace the Premier League this season after all.

Hopefully, with August now upon us, one or more clubs will finally make a move for the 26-year-old.
