Liverpool are considering a move to sign Nicolo Zaniolo ahead of next season, according to Calciomercato, in reports that may certainly alarm Tottenham Hotspur.
Zaniolo’s future with Roma looks to be up in the air. He has been a regular fixture for Jose Mourinho’s men this season following two serious injuries in quick succession in the last few years.

Calciomercato reports that he is yet to sign a new contract.
Recent reports claimed that Roma were open to selling the 22-year-old. They are aware that he is one player who could command a significant fee. He is a player Daniele De Rossi labelled ‘incredible‘ in the past.
And with that, he could fund any spending from the Giallorossi this summer.

A Premier League move was mooted. However, it was suggested that Tottenham were the side tracking Zaniolo. In fact, the report claimed that Spurs are dreaming of deploying the youngster behind Harry Kane.
However, they face plenty of competition. And Calciomercato suggests that one of the sides keen on Zaniolo is Liverpool.
Could history repeat itself as Liverpool look to rival Tottenham for Zaniolo?
Tottenham fans may shudder at the thought of Liverpool joining the race for Zaniolo. Of course, the two clubs were involved in one of the most exciting deals of the January transfer window.
Liverpool signed Luis Diaz from Porto. However, it was Tottenham who made the first play for his signature. In fact, they launched a £46 million bid.
Spurs were reportedly hopeful of sealing a deal. However, their bid seemingly prompted Liverpool to enter the race.
And the Reds were the ones to secure his signature. The early signs suggest that that deal could be a masterstroke.
Roma reportedly value Zaniolo at £33.5 million. So he would certainly be affordable for both clubs.
Tottenham will surely be wary of history repeating itself. Perhaps that will encourage Spurs to act swiftly with Zaniolo.
