Gold provides exciting update on Tottenham bid to sign Luis Diaz

Alasdair Gold has claimed in a video on his YouTube channel that he understands that Tottenham Hotspur are more hopeful that they will sign Luis Diaz than they are of getting Adama Traore.

Of course, Tottenham signing Adama has seemingly been on the cards throughout the window. At one stage, it was claimed that the Wolves man had agreed personal terms on a contract worth £120,000-a-week ahead of a potential switch.

However, Tottenham fans learned on Tuesday that a stunning bid for Luis Diaz had been made. It was suggested that they had offered a deal worth £46 million for the Porto star.

He has scored 14 league goals, with two more coming in the Champions League this season. And it would certainly be one of the most exciting transfers of the window if Tottenham could get a deal done.

It would be a huge statement of intent if Fabio Paratici could get a move across the line. And Gold has suggested that they are starting to become a little more optimistic that a transfer could be possible. In fact, they have more hope for Diaz than Adama.

“The latest I understand on that situation is there’s a growing hope that they might be able to get this deal done,” Gold said in a video on his YouTube channel.

“They are throwing everything at it. That’s their priority right now. I understand at the moment, and I must stress at the moment, Spurs are more hopeful of this one happening than Adama Traore.”

Conte revolution would certainly be underway if Tottenham signed Luis Diaz

Tottenham fans have probably had concerns in this window. They would have hoped for big things in January following Conte’s appointment. And the lack of signings would have left some worried about how frustrated Conte may become.

Tottenham probably cannot argue that the window has entirely gone to plan thus far. But all of that may be forgotten should they manage to sign Diaz.

The 25-year-old is one of the most exciting talents playing in Europe right now. And any question about the club’s ambition in the market would be put to bed if a deal did get across the line.
