Leeds United could be offered the chance to sign Francisco Trincao this summer, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that the Whites are open to taking a Barcelona player as part of the deal that may see Raphinha move to the Nou Camp.

Raphinha continues to be linked with a move to Catalonia. Reports at the weekend claimed that the Brazilian had agreed a five-year deal with Xavi’s men. A fee however, is yet to be discussed between the two clubs.

Leeds seem to be open to the idea of some kind of swap deal. Oscar Mingueza is someone Victor Orta is reportedly very interested in.

Mundo Deportivo has now put another name forward. And it is one that Leeds fans now know a fair amount about.

Trincao has had an underwhelming loan spell at Wolves. However, it all seemed to click for the Portugal international when he came up against Jesse Marsch’s men before the international break.

The 22-year-old was one of the numerous players brought on due to injury. And he went on to set up one and score another as Wolves took a 2-0 lead. He also hit the woodwork with an outrageous effort from distance.

And it now seems that Leeds may be offered the chance to sign him this summer.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Trincao could be an option if Leeds and Barcelona discuss a swap deal. It is noted that the Whites are open to a player moving in the opposite direction.

Trincao move may not sit well with Leeds fans

Obviously, Leeds saw the best of Trincao this season. His first-half display was described as breathtaking. And he reportedly has a £420 million release clause in his Barcelona contract.

However, the Whites need to keep in mind that Wolves are seemingly not planning to trigger the £25 million option to keep him.

His goal and assist against Marsch’s side opened his account in the Premier League on both fronts. Clearly, that is an alarming return for someone being touted as a potential replacement for Raphinha.

Perhaps it is worth the risk if Barcelona still offer a huge fee for Raphinha. But Trincao would arrive at Elland Road with a big point to prove.
