Arsenal are edging ever closer to the signing of Manchester City star Oleksandr Zinchenko.

It has appeared for some time that the Ukraine international would become the Gunners’ latest signing.

Reports at the weekend claimed that Arsenal were set to announce a deal at the start of this week.

Meanwhile, it was reported on Monday that Zinchenko had agreed a four-year deal with Mikel Arteta’s side.

Admittedly, one report on Tuesday did suggest that the 25-year-old was mulling over possibly staying at the Etihad.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case, with The Sun now reporting Zinchenko is now on his way to Orlando.

The report claims the player has left the City squad in Houston, Texas.

He is on his way to put pen to paper with the Gunners in a deal said to be worth £30m plus £2m in add-ons.

The left-back should undergo his medical within the next 24 hours and finalise the transfer, added the report.

Arsenal have enjoyed a really impressive transfer window so far.

And even when the Gunners suffered a blow in missing out on Lisandro Martinez, they have responded well.

Signing Zinchenko would definitely be another step in the right direction for Arsenal.

He has done well whenever he has played for Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola deeming him ‘incredible‘.

Not only is Zinchenko superb at left-back, but he can also play in midfield, regularly starring in that position for Ukraine.

He is just what Arteta needs – cover for Kieran Tierney, added quality in the middle of the park, and extensive Premier League experience.
