Report: Gil and Tottenham ace Lamela agree personal terms

Personal terms have been agreed in the swap deal between Bryan Gil and Tottenham Hotspur man Erik Lamela.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish side will receive €25m (£21.6m) plus the Argentine in the deal.

Reports are claiming Spurs have put a five-year deal on the table, worth £41.5k-per-week. Lamela will be moving in the opposite direction, signing a three-year contract with the Spanish side.

The move will add a much-needed body in wide areas for Spurs. Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn have both been linked with exits from north London.

Tottenham need to freshen up the attack

Last season was a strange one for the Lilywhites.

Despite all their struggles they still managed to finish seventh and secure a place in Europe.

However, there were a number of flaws across the team especially in attack.

The lack of help received by Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane was staggering. Both players combined to score/assist 64 of the side’s 68 Premier League goals.

It goes without saying, but Nuno Espirito Santo needs to freshen up the Spurs attack. Gil could be just the player to do that after drawing comparisons to legendary figure Johan Cruyff.

The youngster made a great impression for Eibar last term, scoring four times and registering three assists in La Liga.

At 20, he provides plenty of scope for improvement for both the future and right now.
