Lucas Moura reportedly attracting interest from Saudi Arabian clubs

Lucas Moura is reportedly at the centre of interest between Saudi Arabian clubs Al Hilal and Al Nassr.

According to Goal, the Tottenham attacker is a target for both of the Middle Eastern clubs. Al Hilal competed in the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup, whilst Al Nassr are coached by former Brazil manager Mano Menezes.

Lucas’ future with Spurs is currently up in the air. The Brazilian international scored nine goals and assisted a further eight in all competitions.

However, the former PSG star only made 14 Premier League starts last season, his lowest tally since joining the north London club in the winter of 2018. The winger made 50 appearances in total, but the majority came off the bench.

As per the report, Tottenham’s new manager could affect what Lucas does next for his future. Antonio Conte was heavily linked with the position last week. However, the former Inter Milan coach is now out of the running for the job.

A change of scenery

With a reported wage of £80,000-a-week, Lucas is one of Tottenham’s top earners at the club.

Yet after a season where the Brazilian started very few games in the Premier League, there is a chance that the 28-year-old winger could be tempted for a change of scenery.

And Saudi Arabia could be a potential destination for the attacker.

The Saudi Professional League bolsters an impressive pool of South American talent who have taken their trade to the Middle Eastern country, such as former Sevilla star Ever Banega and Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto.

Although Lucas might favour staying in Europe, playing in Saudi could be a viable option for the Brazilian international with the nation developing at a rapid pace as a strong footballing country with a competitive league and a chance of playing at the Club World Cup.
