Report: Everton have now suffered a blow in bid to land 'incredible' PL player they were confident of signing
Everton and Leeds United target Morgan Gibbs-White wants to stay and fight for his place at Molineux next season.
The Guardian report that Gibbs-White now wants to remain at Wolves despite extensive transfer interest this summer.
Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have also shown transfer interest in the Englishman, who spent last term on loan at Sheffield United.
But earlier this month, it was reported that Everton were confident of getting the deal done and thought Gibbs-White wanted to join them.
Gibbs-White wants Wolves stay
Wolves wanted more than £25 million for the midfielder this summer, according to the report, but it seems they will not now be cashing in.
Gibbs-White used that loan in the Championship to get gametime and show potential suitors what he can do as a creative force.
He will hope for opportunities at Molineux next term, even if there is not currently an obvious fit for him in Bruno Lage’s 3-4-3 system.
In May, Gibbs-White was described by former Wolves midfielder David Edwards as ‘incredible‘, adding: “Next season could be his breakthrough year.
“I thought it might have been last year. I know it ended tough for him with Sheffield United but if you ask any Blades or Swansea fan, he’s been incredible.
“I just hope Wolves get to see that at Molineux. Wolves have put a lot of time and energy into Morgan, I remember training with him when he was 15 or 16!
“He’s good enough now to play in the Premier League. Hopefully we get to see that and the club get the reward for the jobs they’ve done.”
