Report: Emerson has now agreed Tottenham move, will sign contract until 2026
Goal claim that Barcelona defender Emerson Royal has now agreed to join Tottenham on deadline day, and will sign a contract until June 2026.
Emerson, 22, has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs over the last 24 hours. The Brazil international is on the fringes at the Nou Camp.
Fabio Paratici is looking to solve Tottenham’s need of a right-back. Japhet Tanganga has started well on the right side of the defence this season.
Meanwhile, Matt Doherty has struggled since joining the club from Wolves. But he now links up with his previous manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Serge Aurier is in the final year of his contract and could leave on deadline day – with Emerson now expected to complete a deal at Spurs today.
Emerson to Tottenham: The details, as Barca right-back agrees move
On Monday, Mundo Deportivo reported a Spurs bid of £25.75million was accepted by Barcelona – but that personal terms were yet to be agreed.
Now, Goal say that Emerson has agreed personal terms and will put pen to paper on a contract that keeps him at Tottenham for the next five years.
The report also states that Barcelona will receive an initial £21million for Emerson – and between £4million and £6million in add-ons.
Initially, Emerson was keen on staying at Barcelona. But Tottenham and Paratici have managed to convince him over a move to North London.
In other Tottenham news, Barcelona will bid for an Arsenal player if Spurs completed Emerson deal.
