Tottenham Hotspur are set to meet with AC Milan tomorrow to discuss Japhet Tanganga, with Calciomercato suggesting that Spurs are open to a deal that could see the defender leave permanently.

There has been interest in Tanganga throughout the window. It has previously been reported that he has concerns about game-time with Eric Dier and Cristian Romero edging closer to a return.

Milan want Tanganga on loan. And it appears that a resolution may come imminently.

Calciomercato reports that the Rossoneri will meet with Tottenham to discuss Tanganga’s future on Monday. Interestingly, Spurs would prefer a deal that leads to a permanent sale.

Tottenham may be in two minds over Tanganga as Milan prepare for talks

Tanganga has had a mixed season with Tottenham. He started the campaign brilliantly, producing a potential man of the match display against Manchester City on the opening day. Garth Crooks described his performance as ‘seriously good‘.

However, he has not been able to cement a spot in the Tottenham team. He has been an unused substitute on seven occasions in the Premier League.

And with Tottenham continuing talks over Adama Traore, Tanganga may see his opportunities become even more limited in the near future.

Tanganga, for his part, will have seen several English players move to Serie A and thrive in recent years. But he will also find it difficult to leave Tottenham. He has spent nearly 13 years at the club.

Tottenham’s decision may not be easy either. He is one of a number of talented youngsters on the club’s books. And he has shown that he is good enough to play in the Premier League – even if he still needs to improve further.

But Spurs may struggle to turn a good offer down.

It will be a tough call for Tottenham. But they look set to have a better idea of what the future holds tomorrow.
