Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Valencia have asked Tottenham Hotspur about signing Bryan Gil on loan until the end of the season.

Gil has made an underwhelming start to life in North London following his move in the summer. Of course, he joined with Erik Lamela moving to Sevilla in a swap deal.

It looked to be an exciting piece of business from Tottenham. Spurs also agreed to pay Sevilla £21.6 million for the 20-year-old.

The winger has often looked bright when he has featured for Tottenham. Graham Roberts lauded him as a superstar after one display. However, he has only played a total of 85 minutes across eight games in the Premier League.

And with that, clubs are looking at a potential move for the Spain international. Romano has claimed that Valencia have asked about a loan deal for Gil. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad and Nice are also admirers.

Romano added that Tottenham are yet to make a decision on Gil. But his future could depend on the outcome of talks for Adama Traore…

Tottenham face tricky decision as Valencia eye Bryan Gil loan

Gil has actually been linked with a move away from Spurs throughout his time with the club. In fact, it was reported last year that Barcelona were keen on the youngster.

Tottenham do find themselves in a tricky position. As things stand, it is hard to see Gil making a huge impact for Antonio Conte’s men over the rest of the campaign.

However, he has done well in some of his cameos. And loaning him out would see Spurs lose a potential game-changer.

Obviously, a loan deal could be beneficial for Gil. He could regain some confidence if he gets the opportunity to play regularly.

But he may want to keep himself in the mix with Conte. As Steven Bergwijn proved this week, one inspired performance can change perceptions entirely.
