Report: Club could sell Tottenham target - to fund Dusan Vlahovic bid
Tottenham Hotspur may have received a boost to their hopes of signing Dejan Kulusevski, with Juventus considering selling the winger in January – but Calciomercato notes that there is a major catch for Spurs.
What’s the story?
Spurs are one of the sides looking at Kulusevski. The Sweden international has struggled for game-time with the Old Lady this season.
The 21-year-old did score seven goals and provide seven assists in all competitions last term. But he does not appear to Max Allegri’s cup of tea following his return to Turin.
And with that, Kulusevski could now be sold in the winter.
There was a report from the same outlet in recent days suggesting that the youngster could be moved on in the upcoming window.
And now their latest report has explained what they plan to do with any money made from selling the wide-man.
And that may not be particularly good news from Tottenham.
According to Calciomercato, the player that Juve are looking to fund a move for is Dusan Vlahovic.
That is a name Spurs fans will be very familiar with. In fact, it was reported on Thursday that Fabio Paratici is in talks with the striker’s entourage about a potential move.
Tottenham need Vlahovic more than Kulusevski
Tottenham fans will not have too many complaints if they end up with either Kulusevski or Vlahovic.
Both are incredibly exciting, young players who have already made their mark in Italy’s top flight.
But of the two, Vlahovic is arguably the name that should be at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist.
His record is outrageous. And Spurs definitely need further depth up front.
So if pursuing Kulusevski deals a blow to their hopes of signing Vlahovic, perhaps Tottenham need to rethink targeting the Juventus man.
