A report from The Sun has surprisingly claimed that Oleksandr Zinchenko could yet consider rejecting the chance to join Arsenal despite a fee and personal terms being agreed.

It has appeared for some time that Zinchenko would become the Gunners’ latest signing. Reports at the weekend claimed that Arsenal were set to announce a £35 million deal at the start of this week.

Meanwhile, it was reported on Monday that Zinchenko had agreed a four-year deal with Mikel Arteta’s side. So it would appear that an announcement may be imminent.

However, another report has suggested that there could yet be a twist at the final hurdle.

The Sun is reporting that Zinchenko is considering rejecting Arsenal. And he could decide to stay at Manchester City.

City meanwhile, would be happy to abandon plans to sign a new left-back if Zinchenko stays.

Zinchenko could reportedly decide to reject Arsenal

In truth, it would be one of the biggest surprises of the summer if Zinchenko now decided to walk away from joining Arsenal.

There are too many reports out there claiming that the Ukraine international is on the verge of moving to the Emirates.

Obviously, Arsenal supporters may be a little wary of the latest reports while Zinchenko is not yet a Gunners player. Some may struggle to stop themselves worrying about the possibility of things falling through.

Zinchenko has a very strong connection with City. And that relationship only became stronger given everything going on in his beloved Ukraine in recent months.

And clearly, staying at City is more likely to lead to Zinchenko winning more trophies.

So it will be tough for the versatile midfielder to leave. But every other report appears to suggest that he is ready to go.

So surely, there will be no late drama. Surely?
