Report: Bayern Munich contact £17m-rated PSG star linked with Arsenal
Arsenal may have to see off competition from Bayern Munich should they pursue a move for Thilo Kehrer this summer, with Foot Mercato reporting that the Bundesliga side have made contact with his representatives.
Kehrer has started both of Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 fixtures at the start of this campaign.
Nevertheless, it would appear that he could be on the move before the transfer window shuts.
L’Equipe previously claimed that he is valued at around £17 million. And it appears that he has attracted the attention of Arsenal.
Foot Mercato claimed last month that the Gunners had looked into a move for the 24-year-old.
It is not clear whether they remain keen on the German. But if they are, they may face some serious competition.
According to Foot Mercato, Bayern Munich have made contact with his agents in recent days. And the Bavarian giants had a representative in the crowd to watch the defender at the weekend.
The report adds that his people are working on a potential deal. However, no agreement looks to be close.
Arsenal may be wise to strengthen centre-back options further amid Kehrer links
Arsenal have bolstered their defensive ranks this summer. Ben White has joined for a huge fee.
White looks to have a serious amount of potential. But it is fair to say that his debut did not go to plan.
Arsenal were extremely poor at the back against Brentford. And that may have left Mikel Arteta with some food for thought.
Kehrer is yet to look really convincing at Parc des Princes. And a £17 million asking price highlights that a move would be a gamble.
But it certainly appears that Arsenal would also be taking a risk if they did not sign another defender before the window shut.
