Aston Villa’s poor start to the season has seen them look for last-minute additions to their squad.
They’re reportedly in pole position to sign another defender in the next few hours.
And journalist Craig Hope has now delivered an update on a potential attacking recruit.

Moura signed for Tottenham on deadline day back in January 2018.
He’s had some heroic moments in a Spurs shirt, including scoring the goal that took them to a Champions League final.
However, he doesn’t appear to be in Antonio Conte’s plans, having played just 12 minutes this season.
This has given Villa the idea to make an enquiry to Tottenham about signing Moura on loan.
Villa make Moura enquiry
Craig Hope took to Twitter to update Villa fans and said: “Spurs have little interest in allowing Lucas Moura to leave on loan.
“Aston Villa among those who have asked about him, but not Newcastle.”
It’s a blow for Villa, as Moura could really elevate their attacking options.
Previously described as one of Tottenham’s ‘formidable’ players, Moura’s versatility could be a blessing to Gerrard.
The Brazilian is capable of player across the front three or behind a striker.
Antonio Conte even used him as a wing-back in pre-season.
A loan deal would make sense for Villa, as spending a fee on a 30-year-old with limited sell-on value wouldn’t be great business.

As Hope reports, Tottenham have little interest in loaning the Brazilian out.
However, Villa’s enquiry for Moura will give Tottenham something to think about.
The move wasn’t entirely ruled out, and if other deals happen for Spurs, they might be more willing to let Moura go.
Villa might have had more luck with their enquiry for Moura if Tottenham’s approach for Hakim Ziyech was successful.
However, Chelsea have refused to strengthen a direct rival, especially considering the relationship between the two clubs.
