Report: Arsenal target expected to get call to undergo Gunners medical today as deal edges closer

Albert Sambi Lokonga is expected to get the call to travel to London to undergo his medical ahead of a move to Arsenal today, according to a report from Belgian outlet Voetbalkrant.

Lokonga looks to be edging closer to joining the Gunners. According to Fabrizio Romano, only the finer details are left to be finalised.

The journalist claimed on Monday that the midfielder’s personal terms have been agreed. He is set to sign a deal until 2026.

Arsenal meanwhile, are reportedly set to pay an initial £15 million for the 21-year-old. The move will include add-ons. Interestingly, Romano claimed that no medical had been scheduled at that stage.

However, reports in Belgium suggest that that could be imminent.

According to Voetbalkrant, Lokonga is expected to get the call to travel to London on Wednesday. It is noted that both clubs want the transfer announced this week.

Lokonga worth the wait as Arsenal medical awaits

It has been some time since reports in Belgium claimed Arsenal were the side showing the most interest in Lokonga.

But it has appeared for a while that he would be Emirates-bound. And barring any late surprises, it would seem that a move is now imminent.
