Arsenal are set to complete their first signing of the summer. Fabrizio Romano claims that a deal is set to go through for Albert Sambi Lokonga.

The player will check in from Anderlecht and he’ll sign a five-year contract until 2026 at the Emirates Stadium.

At 21, he is deemed an exciting prospect and Arsenal have had personal terms agreed with the player for weeks.

As of yet a medical hasn’t been scheduled, although negotiations are now set to be concluded between all parties.

Arsenal are set to pay £15 million for the talented midfield player. He will link up with Mikel Arteta’s team for pre-season training ahead of 2021/22.

The deal will also include some performance-related add-ons and the challenge for Arsenal is to help him realise his potential.

Lokonga played 37 times for Anderlecht last season. He fired three goals and claimed three assists.

He featured 20 times in central midfield and a further 17 games came in a holding role tasked with protecting the back four.

The talented performer was handed plenty of chances to impress under Vincent Kompany and he’ll hope to play regularly at Arsenal.

Arteta has been on the lookout for midfielders. Granit Xhaka could leave, whilst Dani Ceballos has returned to Real Madrid and won’t be back.

Arsenal might have hit the jackpot with Lokonga

This could be a really exciting signing for the Gunners. Lokonga is a top talent in Europe and looks like a future Belgium star.

Arsenal have a proud history with younger players and there is a lot to like about this transfer.

At 21 his best years are ahead of him and the transfer fee ensures he will come with significant re-sale value.

Lokonga is strong in the tackle, boasts a beautiful passing radar and has a mature head on young shoulders.

Only time will tell, but the Gunners might have struck gold with this eye-catching capture.
