Report: Arsenal now ready to give their 'unbelievable' player a new contract worth £210k-a-week

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be well aware that the January transfer window is important for incomings and outgoings.

A couple of smart purchases could cement the Gunners position at the top of the table, but losing one or two key players could be detrimental.

A report from the Daily Mail suggests Arsenal are now getting ready to secure the long-term future of one of the world’s best young players.

Arteta has put together a squad with a young, vibrant core of players who seem to have gelled brilliantly.

However, a number of Arsenal’s key players don’t have too long left on their current contracts.

Breakout star William Saliba has less than two years left on his current deal.

A report from Fabrizio Romano suggests that Arsenal are optimistic he will extend his new deal soon.

Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli is another player the Gunners are trying to tie down to a new deal.

Arsenal are expected to step up their efforts to secure Martinelli’s long-term future soon.

However, the Daily Mail report that Arsenal are now preparing to offer a new contract to Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal preparing bumper contract for Saka

The report suggests that Saka is in talks with Arsenal over a £210,000-a-week deal.

The ‘unbelievable’ winger will only increase his value further by impressing at the World Cup.

His brace against Iran gave England the perfect start to the tournament and justified Gareth Southgate’s decision to start him.

Simon Jordan has suggested that Saka could one day be worth over £100m.

Arsenal preparing a new contract for Saka is arguably more important than any potential signing they could make in January.

Fabrizio Romano backs up the Daily Mail’s claim that talks are ongoing between club and player.

If Saka does sign a £210k-a-week deal, it would make him the second highest earner at the club behind Gabriel Jesus.

Although it’s a massive amount of money, it’s hard to argue that Saka wouldn’t be worth it.
