Arsenal are hopeful of completing a deal to bring Albert Sambi Lokonga to the Emirates in the transfer window after making a bid for the youngster, according to a report from The Telegraph.
Lokonga has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners this month. It was initially reported in Belgium that they were the side showing the most interest in the 21-year-old.

In fact, it was suggested that Thierry Henry had recommended Lokonga to his former club. The legendary striker has worked alongside him in his role with Belgium.
That was quickly followed up by reports that they had made a bid for the Anderlecht starlet. However, that offer was turned down.
The Telegraph has also suggested that a £13 million bid had been made for the midfielder.

However, interestingly, they make no mention of it being turned down. It is claimed that negotiations are set to continue in the coming days.
And crucially, The Telegraph adds that Arsenal are hopeful of reaching an agreement.
Lokonga would be such an exciting addition for Arsenal – and transfer would not break the bank
Based on various reports, it appears that Arsenal are determined to conduct quite the overhaul of their squad this summer.
It certainly appears that Lokonga would not be Arsenal’s most expensive buy of the window.
But he could prove one of their most inspired. He looks to have an exciting passing range. And he possesses real quality on the ball.
And he is a leader. Despite being born a couple of months after Thierry Henry joined Arsenal, Lokonga has often worn the captain’s armband for Anderlecht.
Arsenal are already prepared to part with a reasonable sum to get him. So surely, they are now going to make sure that they get a deal across the line.
