CalcioMercato has claimed that Arsenal could postpone their plans to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk following Gabriel Jesus’ injury blow.
The Gunners summer signing hurt his knee while on international duty with Brazil at the World Cup. He had to undergo surgery and is expected to miss about three months of action.
That could now apparently affect Arsenal’s January transfer plans.

Arsenal could postpone plans to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk
Arsenal have had an amazing start to the new season. They are five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and although many feel they don’t have what it takes to go all the way, they really do look like title contenders.
To have any chance of staying where they are, Arsenal have to strengthen their squad in January. Additions in central midfield and on the wings was a priority before the World Cup, but the report claims those plans have changed.
It has been revealed that Mudryk, who has long been linked with a move to Arsenal, is Arteta’s ‘chosen one,’ while the Gunners boss views Real Madrid star Marco Asensio and Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane as potential alternatives.
However, following Jesus’ injury, Arsenal have decided to postpone plans to sign Mudryk or any other winger. Their sole priority now, as per the report, is a new centrre-forward, and Arteta already has four names on his wish list. Check them out HERE.
Mudryk still has four years left on his Shakhtar contract.

TBR View:
If Arsenal really want a new striker in January, signing Mudryk would become extremely difficult as the Ukrainian will cost a lost of money.
Shakhtar Donetsk are reportedly demanding £85 million to let him go in January. Arsenal will have to smash their transfer demand to get him at that price, which is not beyond them, but it’s just unlikely – if they’re going after a new striker as well.
Postponing a move for Mudryk definitely does make sense, but the big risk is that it could open the door for another club to lure him away while Arsenal focus their attention elsewhere.
It’s a tricky situation for the Gunners, and it will be interesting to see what they will do with Mudryk.
