West Ham United have suddenly kicked into gear.
The Hammers had been silent in the transfer window up until this week, but now, they are set to make a number of big signings.
Harry Maguire and James Ward-Prowse are reportedly set to sign, and it sounds as though West Ham aren’t done there.
Indeed, another ‘exceptional’ defender could soon be through the door at the London Stadium in the shape of Ian Maatsen.

According to The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, West Ham are very keen on Maatsen on a loan deal with an option to buy.
Maatsen was very impressive last season on loan at Burnley, and, in all honesty, a move to West Ham makes the world of sense.
Of course, David Moyes is very keen to make more domestic signings at West Ham, and after a season of shining in the Championship, Maatsen should be ready to make the step-up to the top-flight.
West Ham do have a gap at left-back opening up too.

Aaron Cresswell is set to leave in the coming weeks with both Wolves and Nottingham Forest said to be keen, while Emerson Palmieri hasn’t truly established himself as a star with the Hammers so far either.
Maatsen is a young, hungry full-back who can attack just as well as he can defend, and while David Moyes likes a full-back who is more defensively sound, he’s show in the past with the likes of Leighton Baines at Everton and Antonio Valencia at Manchester United that he’s willing to be adventurous at full-back.
Maguire looks set to sign and Maatsen is also very much on the radar. By all accounts, we may not be far off seeing a brand new backline at West Ham.
The Hammers are becoming busy, and this could end up being a very exciting time to be a West Ham supporter.
