Report: Agents think Arsenal will try to sign their ‘fantastic’ £35m striker, Edu’s a massive fan

According to Planet Football, Arsenal technical director Edu Gaspar is a big fan of Everton attacker Richarlison.

The Gunners are in desperate need of a new number nine. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the club in January, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are both expected to walk away when their contracts expire in the summer.

Arsenal need not just one, but two new strikers before the start of next season, and they have been linked with a whole host of names already.

However, Richarlison is a new name to come out of the rumour mill and his agents apparently think a move to Arsenal is possible.

Richarlison’s agents think Arsenal move is a likely option

Richarlison is currently a part of a struggling Everton side who could well go down this season. The Toffees forked out an initial £35 million (BBC) for the Brazilian in 2018 and he has been brilliant for them since.

The report claims that Edu is a huge fan of Richarlison and the Everton man is on Arsenal’s list of targets for the upcoming summer transfer window.

It has also been claimed that the Brazilian’s agents view a move for Richarlison to the Emirates as a very likely option.

However, PSG are also reportedly keen to sign him, which could complicate things for the North Londoners.

TBR View:

Arsenal will definitely look for a new striker this summer and Richarlison is not a bad option at all, especially if Everton get relegated this season.

The Toffees are currently 17th in the table, just one point above the drop zone. Burnley are 18th at the moment and Sean Dyche’s men already know what it takes to get out of the bottom three in the business end of the season.

If things don’t change for Everton, they will go down and that would make many of their star players available for an absolute bargain.

Richarlison, labelled as ‘fantastic‘ by Carlo Ancelotti, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are two such stars and it won’t be a surprise to see Arsenal go after both of them.
