Report: 26-year-old hands in transfer request amid interest from Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton
TuttoMercatoWeb claim Joaquin Correa has handed in a transfer request at Italian side Lazio, amid reports that English clubs want the Argentine. Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton have all been linked with Correa recently. Now, they Correa has made his stance clear – he wants to leave Lazio.
Correa, 26, had a hand in 17 goals in 38 games for Lazio last season under the impressive Simone Inzaghi. Scoring 11, he also laid on six assists. But Inzaghi has left to join Inter Milan, replacing Antonio Conte. Correa could follow him now, especially following the latest report from TMW.
Solo La Lazio said in June that Arsenal and Everton were considering the £30million-rated South American. Gazzetta Dello Sport say Tottenham and West Ham have also looked at Correa this season. Now, all four Premier League clubs have received a boost in their bid to get Correa.
Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham or Everton – as Correa hands in transfer request?
Everton still want another winger despite bringing in Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray. Tottenham have brought in Bryan Gil but Erik Lamela and Gareth Bale have left. Arsenal need cover, especially with Willian struggling. West Ham are about to embark on the Europa League.
So, all clubs need another option out wide – plus, Correa can play as a 10 which makes him more valuable. In terms of game time, West Ham and Spurs are best given they are in European action. But with Arsenal a tantalising prospect, Correa really has the pick of the bunch.
