Italian outlet Solo La Lazio have claimed that Arsenal and Everton are in talks to sign Lazio attacker Joaquin Correa this summer. The Argentina international has caught the eye after having a hand in 17 goals during his 38 appearances last term. Both have made contact with Correa’s agents.
Correa, 26, has starred for Lazio in the three years he has been at the club since joining from Sevilla. But it is his last season in which he has thrown himself onto the radar of clubs. Arsenal and Everton are now said to have spoken to the representatives of Correa. Lazio rate him at £30million.
But the report states that Arsenal are only willing to offer £17million to sign Correa – who has scored 11 goals and created six more during 2020-21. Arsenal’s offer does include bonuses but Lazio are unwilling to redice their asking price, especially because he intrigues new Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri.

Correa would be a good signing for Arsenal
Martin Odegaard is likely to return to Real Madrid and clearly, Mikel Arteta likes to have two options in the number 10 role. Emile Smith-Rowe is set to sign a new deal at Arsenal but he needs competition. Correa can provide that, but also offer versatility in the final third.
The five-time Argentina ace can play on either flank but perhaps more importantly, up front. Doubts remain over the future of Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette. So having another option up top is crucial. The Gunners really need to meet Lazio’s asking price this summer.
