Tottenham Hotspur appear to be on the verge of offloading Tanguy Ndombele on a loan deal with option to buy.

Last Friday, Fabrizio Romano reported that Spurs and Napoli had reached an agreement over the midfielder.

And the Daily Mail has today claimed that Ndombele has told his Spurs teammates he’s Naples-bound.

Now, Sport Witness has provided some information from Italy’s RAI Sport.

Journalist Ciro Venerato – via Tutto Napoli and transcribed by SW – has claimed that the Serie A side ‘will definitely close for the strong French midfielder’.

This will be ‘as soon as the transfer of Fabian Ruiz to PSG is defined in all its details’.

And Ndombele ‘should join the team by the third match day’, which is on August 28 against Fiorentina.

Venerato has also reported that Napoli will pay Tottenham €500,000 (£421,000) up front with an option to buy at €30m (£25.3m).

Tottenham have been trying to find a transfer solution for Ndombele for a while now.

The Spurs record signing is surplus to Antonio Conte’s requirements after returning from his Lyon loan.

Ndombele, along with Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks, have reportedly been training individually.

One of the quartet is already out the door – Lo Celso agreed a return to Villarreal on loan.

Meanwhile, Winks and Reguilon are still waiting for the right offer to leave.

Ndombele is on a reported £200,000-a-week contract until the summer of 2025.

This means he’s arguably one of the highest priorities for Tottenham in terms of offloading him before the deadline.

A fresh start away from England might be the best option for Ndombele too, and a return to the Champions League could see him fulfil his potential.
