Reguilon shares Hart’s hilarious reaction to Panenka in Tottenham training

Sergio Reguilon has shared with 433 on Instagram just how Joe Hart once reacted when the Tottenham Hotspur left-back had the audacity to take a Panenka penalty against him in training.

Hart spent one season at Spurs. He was unable to force his way ahead of Hugo Lloris in the pecking order. But he did manage to make a number of appearances in the cup competitions.

And he did appear to make a good impression on some of the fans, as well as the Tottenham squad. Some supporters expressed their disappointment when it was reported that he was set to be allowed to leave ahead of his move to Celtic last summer.

Hart has certainly built a reputation for being quite a character, as many goalkeepers appear to be. So it is probably no surprise that he did not take too kindly to being humiliated by Reguilon in training one day.

The Spaniard was watching a video of a Panenka penalty being taken. And he went on to explain how Hart responded when the defender took one against him back when they were teammates.

He told 433 on Instagram: “One time, I did this in a training session with Joe Hart, and he killed me. You know the Panenka? I understand now. He said: ‘What are you doing? This isn’t training, this is like a match. Are you serious?'”

Tottenham fans may not mind Hart taking exception to Reguilon Panenka

Of course, there are few things more remarkable in a penalty shootout than a player stepping up and dinking the ball, still leaving the goalkeeper with enough time to watch the ball cross the line after they have already dived.

It takes incredible courage. Zinedine Zidane took one in the World Cup final. And of course, few England fans will forget Andrea Pirlo’s outrageous attempt against Hart at Euro 2012.

Reguilon however, has never taken a competitive penalty. So Tottenham fans may not mind too much to hear that Hart was not happy.

The full-back has an amazing left foot. So if the time ever came for Reguilon to take a penalty, the supporters would probably prefer him to try and find a corner with a well-struck attempt rather than try and chip the ball across the line.
