Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez and Jurgen Klopp got to see him in action live last night.
The Reds hosted Inter Milan in the Champions League in what was a tricky game. Liverpool were 2-0 up after the first leg and were the favourites to go through, but the Italians made it difficult for them.
Lautaro Martinez scored an absolute stunner in the second half and that made Inter believe that they could turn things around with 30 minutes left on the clock.
However, their hearts were broken soon after as Alexis Sanchez got himself a red card and that killed the tie.
Jurgen Klopp: Lautaro Martinez scored a really brilliant goal
Even though Liverpool held on and qualified for the next stage of the Champions League last night, Klopp was not a happy man. He acknowledged that Martinez’s goal was ‘really brilliant,’ but felt that his defenders should’ve done much better to prevent his strike.
He said, as per Liverpool’s official website: “So, the first 20 minutes I didn’t like our counter-press too much and that is something that is nothing to do with the opponent, that is only about us.
“The goal we conceded, we shouldn’t have conceded, even when the finish was really brilliant, but we could have done [things] different before.
“Things like this can happen, so again, you have to make sure you know about it and then you don’t do it again – or you just do it better next time.”

Should the Reds sign the Argentine?
Only a week ago, CalcioMercato revealed that Liverpool were ready to attack Inter Milan to sign Lautaro Martinez in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The report even claimed that the Italian champions were ready to let him leave, but they will only sell him if their asking price of £75 million is met.
Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah will all enter the final year of their contracts at the end of this season. There’s a chance that two of the above three could leave Liverpool, which would then open the door for a new attacker.
Martinez would be perfect and the fact that he already knows how to score belters at Anfield can only be a good thing.
