Chelsea could yet decide to cash in on reported Tottenham Hotspur target Conor Gallagher ahead of Thursday’s deadline.
That’s according to The Athletic, with the outlet claiming that Chelsea agreeing to the sale of the 23-year-old this month remains ‘plausible’.
Tottenham’s interest in snapping up Conor Gallagher is certainly no secret, with Ange Postecoglou said to be a huge admirer of the midfielder.

Gallagher has been a key man in Mauricio Pochettino’s side this term, racking up a total of 20 appearances in the Premier League.
Yet, there remains a possibility that Chelsea could entertain a sale this month. The Blue could look to raise funds for a potential move for a new striker.
And while Tottenham’s move for Gallagher has been labelled ‘unlikely’ in recent days, it would seem that Chelsea could yet decide to sell the Englishman this week.
Chelsea could agree to Gallagher sale
The Athletic reports that Gallagher’s deal is set to expire in the summer of 2025 and a new contract is looking unlikely at this stage.
As a result, the outlet claims it is ‘plausible’ that Chelsea agree to sell the midfielder this month, or even in the summer.
It’s noted that three clubs in the top half of the Premier League have already asked about signing Gallagher.

Gallagher appears to be the ideal signing for Postecoglou should he wish to bolster his midfield options.
Spurs have already done the majority of their business early by landing Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin in the opening two weeks of the window.
Yet, they remain on the lookout for a new midfielder and Gallagher seems to top that list at this stage.
Whether or not Tottenham decide to test Chelsea’s resolve remains to be seen. But with the Blues set to demand around £45 million for the England international, he certainly won’t come cheap.
