Fabrizio Romano has been offering up the latest information he’s got on Conor Gallagher and his ongoing links to Tottenham Hotspur.
Gallagher is one of the main midfield targets for Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. The Chelsea skipper has yet to sign a new deal with the Blues and there is growing speculation that the club could cash in on him.
Tottenham are at the front of the queue to sign Gallagher if Chelsea do sell. The North London outfit have already got deals for Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner over the line this month and Ange Postecoglou would love a midfielder as well.
And speaking on his Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has offered up what he knows.

Conor Gallagher to Tottenham still not moving along yet
Speaking about Gallagher and Spurs, Romano suggested that he is Ange Postecoglou’s main target but as of now, nothing is being done to do the deal.
“I think we will always have links between Conor Gallagher and Tottenham because he is super-appreciated by the club and especially by Ange Postecoglou. I’m still hearing it was since July/August that they started some contacts to understands the situation and he’s always been super-appreciated by the manager so the interest is there. But, what I’m told right now is there is still no negotiations, club to club or club to agent to make the deal. Tottenham are very happy with the signings they completed and with a new midfielder, it has to be with an opportunity or it has to be after outgoings,” Romano said.
Chelsea are thought to be looking for at least £45m to even consider selling Gallagher.
One to keep eyes on
This one just keeps lingering on and it wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone to see the ‘fantastic‘ Gallagher finally end up at Spurs.
Something isn’t sitting right from the Chelsea end and you’d have thought if they really valued him than a new contract would have been sorted by now.
Tottenham will keep on pressing the buttons around this deal you feel. With a few weeks left in January, there is still time and a late deal remains possible.
If Gallagher does sign for Spurs, then it would complete a fine window for the club. If not, then don’t rule out them coming again in the summer.
