Piers Morgan has named the three Arsenal players manager Mikel Arteta should get rid of in the final days of the January transfer window.

The Arsenal fan and TV personality has named Kai Havertz among those players.

So, what has Piers Morgan said about Arsenal? Let’s take a look.

Piers Morgan names three players Arsenal should sell

Well, Piers Morgan has been highlighting the importance of Arsenal signing a striker before the January transfer window shuts this week.

The TV personality is an Arsenal fan, and he thinks that Arsenal need to sign a quality striker this week. Morgan has previously urged manager Mikel Arteta to go out and get Ivan Toney from Brentford.

According to Morgan, Arsenal should get rid of Germany international midfielder Kai Havertz right now despite signing him from Chelsea only in the summer of 2023.

The TV personality has also named attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe and striker Eddie Nketiah as the players Arsenal should sell to fund a move for a quality number 9.

Morgan said on talkSPORT (9:15 am, January 30, 2024): “People say we haven’t got the money, Financial Fair Play and all that, I can sell you three or four players tomorrow and get a war chest to buy a striker. It’s not difficult.

“Put Havertz on the transfer list for one, what would you get for him, £60m for Havertz right?

“People like Smith Rowe and Nketiah these guys, are they really, really going to be the players that win you the league?

“Nothing against them, they’re terrific players, they’ve come through our system, great. But, if you want to win the league, you’ve got to be ruthless.

“And it worries me that Arteta almost seems to be trying to convince himself that he doesn’t need a top striker when everyone knows he does.”

My View: No firesale for Arsenal in January

I do not think that Arsenal are going to get rid Kai Havertz, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah this week.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has consistently said that he rates Smith Rowe and hopes to give him more playing time.

Nketiah is one of two recognised strikers at Arsenal, and there are reports that the Gunners are happy with him.

As for Havertz, I think that it is ridiculous to even suggest that Arsenal will sell him just months after paying £65 million for him.

And, even if Arsenal decided to offload him now, would any club sign him and pay £65 million? No.
