‘Physically a freak’: Mark Noble now says £62k-a-week West Ham player has almost no weaknesses
His side sit perilously close to the relegation zone with nearly half the season completed.
There’s not been a huge number of positives to take from this season at the London Stadium.
Their 100% record in the Europe Conference League is in stark contrast to their domestic form.
However, one man who has stood out as he always does in a West Ham shirt is Declan Rice.
In their most recent league defeat to Leicester City, Moyes highlighted Rice’s performance and thought he was the best player on the pitch.
Rice is quickly becoming a Hammers legend, and received from very high praise indeed from the main he took the armband from.
Mark Noble believes Rice is one of the best midfielders in the world and has almost no weaknesses right now.
Rice has almost no weaknesses right now – Noble
Speaking on West Ham’s official YouTube channel about his former midfield partner, Noble said: “He grew from strength to strength, and I’ve got to see him grow first hand as a player and a man.
“He’s become in my eyes, one of the best midfielders in his position in world football.
“He’s physically a freak, he can shoot, he can head the ball, he can tackle, he can run, he’s technically gifted with both feet.
“There’s not many weaknesses to his game at the minute.”
The £62k-a-week midfielder is going to be a vital player for Gareth Southgate at the World Cup.
Rice and his likely midfield partner Jude Bellingham have both attracted plenty of attention from other clubs.
Tony Cascarino has said that Liverpool should concentrate on Rice over Bellingham as they look to improve their midfield.
West Ham qualifying for Europe has helped secure Rice’s short-term future at the club.
However, unless they can win the Europa Conference League, that run is likely to end this season.
Rice is a Champions League quality player at this point, and as Noble says, has almost no weaknesses to his game.
It’s surely reaching the time where Moyes may have to cash in on his biggest star.
