'Pay the whole Ings budget': Some Southampton fans react to links with £80k-a-week marksman

Southampton fans have called on the club to push the boat out for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, the Saints are eager to snap up the Blues marksman.

Southampton need to replace Danny Ings, who joined Aston Villa on Wednesday for up to a reported £30million.

The 29-year-old was crucial for Saints, so they need to aim for a striker of the same calibre or better.

However, the Evening Standard notes that Southampton may have one issue as things stand.

They’re apparently more interested in a loan deal than a permanent move, while Chelsea would rather sell Abraham outright.

Arsenal and West Ham are reportedly keen on a permanent deal.

However, neither are keen to meet Chelsea’s initial valuation of £40million, added the report.

It looks as though Southampton need to decide whether to really go big in terms of replacing Ings.

Jack Grealish described Abraham as “unbelievable” and said he “loved playing with him”, which clearly shows how much quality he has.

Some Saints fans reckon they definitely should do all they can to land the £80,000-a-week England international.
