Will Lankshear opened his account for Oxford United with an impressive strike in a defeat away at Hull City.
Lankshear scored for Tottenham during pre-season, which generated a lot of hype around him from supporters for the season ahead.
But Tottenham Hotspur opted to send the youngster away on loan to the Championship, where he should secure much-needed game time.
The striker made his second appearance for the U’s in a defeat at Hull, but his performance has the Championship club’s fans talking.

Will Lankshear impresses Oxford United fans vs Hull City
Oxford United’s supporters are quickly starting to love Will Lankshear after he scored his first goal for the club on Sunday.
The striker netted his first Championship goal for the U’s in a late 3-2 defeat away at Hull City as he made the score 1-1 in the ninth minute.
The youngster scored a brilliant volley at the MKM Stadium, as he used impressive technique to find the bottom corner.
Thomas Frank wanted to assess Lankshear before sending him out on loan, and the Dane looks to have made the right choice after his display at Hull.
Frank tried to sign Lankshear at Brentford and is believed to be a big fan of the young striker.
Lankshear, who’s been tipped for big things, will be hoping to make the most of his loan move to the Championship, following a disappointing spell at West Brom last season.
But the 20-year-old is already off the mark for Gary Rowett’s side, and the club’s fans have taken to X to share their thoughts on his display against the Tigers.
One fan said: “What a signing Lankshear could be. Note to self, don’t fall in love with loan signings…”
“We have a striker in Lankshear who can bag 10-15 with service, give it to him with new wingers,” claimed another.
There was yet more praise for the Spurs loanee: “Lankshear and Spencer were two of our better players, recruitment hasn’t been poor at all – we just need more of it.”
Finally, another Oxford fan added: “Good things are being seen from Lankshear.”
Lankshear is highly rated at Tottenham and there will be hope that he can succeed on loan in the Championship and return to North London as a better player.
Will Lankshear on his progress at Oxford United
Speaking after the game, Lankshear revealed that he is really enjoying his time at the Kassam Stadium and was gutted to have lost the game so late on.
Lankshear told Oxford’s media team: “I’m really enjoying it, I love the battle, I love the boys even though I’ve only been for a week.
“It’s a really nice place and I’m really enjoying my time, that’s why it’s so sore this loss, but we’ll definitely come back and get some wins.”
Oxford are next in action on Saturday in what will be a tough away trip to face Birmingham City.
