Unfortunately for Pep Guardiola, Manchester City are currently making do without Omar Marmoush owing to a knee injury.
In Man City’s first three Premier League games of the season, Omar Marmoush played out wide on the left, only to then miss the next five fixtures in all competitions.
Marmoush will also be absent for City’s match against Monaco in the Champions League – the Egyptian is expected back after the upcoming international break.
Fortunately for Guardiola, Jeremy Doku has been excellent on the left in Marmoush’s absence, demonstrating City’s strength in depth.
And even with Rayan Cherki also missing owing to injury right now, City do still have Oscar Bobb vying for chances.

That being said, in an interview with TNT Sports, Marmoush was asked to build his ultimate City player.
The former Eintracht Frankfurt forward, who signed for City back in January, was asked to pick a player in seven different categories.
And after choosing Kevin De Bruyne’s right foot, City fans might be slightly more surprised to hear who’s left peg Marmoush chose.
Instead of Erling Haaland or even Phil Foden, Marmoush chose new signing Cherki.
Cherki was only able to show his ability in glimpses before his injury, but Marmoush has clearly seen enough behind the scenes to choose his new City teammate.
In terms of his other choices, fans at the Etihad might also be surprised to learn that Marmoush chose Abdukodir Khusanov for his speed.

Pep Guardiola has no doubts that Rayan Cherki will be ‘exceptional’ for City
Following his City debut in a 4-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in August, Guardiola shared some very strong praise for Cherki.
In the summer, Liverpool were interested in Cherki too, even if they did ultimately opt for Florian Wirtz.

But when reviewing Cherki’s first performance for the club, Guardiola was convinced that Cherki was going all the way to the top level.
He said: “He’s a top-class player in small spaces. The vision he has in the final third is unbelievable.
“His right and his left foot. We’ll see when he performs. For people up front, it’s a question of numbers and he played 20 minutes and scored a goal.
“There are a lot of games and everyone will be so important. We’re so happy to have him, he’s just 21 years old.
“He’s a top signing for the potential he has and he is open minded. I don’t have doubts that he will be a top-class player, his quality is exceptional.”
