Manchester City are up and running in the Champions League thanks to their 2-0 win over Napoli, and the Italian media were impressed by Pep Guardiola’s side too.

The Citizens played most of the Champions League game with a man advantage after Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s red card midway through the first half, and they made it count.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring for Manchester City before Jeremy Doku wrapped up all three points for the hosts at the Etihad Stadium.

And one Man City player in particular was praised, with one outlet calling him “unstoppable”.

Italian press hails Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku

The player in question is Jeremy Doku, who followed up his Manchester derby heroics with a stunning display against Napoli.

Calciomercato gave Doku a rating of 7.5 out of 10, writing: “Unstoppable on the wing, he tries to dribble every chance he gets and often manages to do so.

“He forces Politano to play defender and, when the former Inter player comes off, he slaloms into the box, finding the back of the net with a splendid goal for a 2-0 lead.”

Likewise, Tuttomercatoweb went with 7.5 out of 10, writing: “After a first half in which he tried several times but failed to break through, he completed his impressive night in the second half.

“He established himself as City’s main offensive source, even making it 2-0 with a stunning solo effort.”

Eurosport completed a hat-trick of 7.5s for Doku as they wrote: “City continually pass the ball to him, and he pushes, tries, and attempts a non-trivial play.

“Until he scores a stunning goal, the one that seals the match.”
